Hluhluwe / Imfolozi  Game Reserve

Accommodation in the Umfolozi section consist of Rest huts, Chalets, Cottages, Bush-camps, Bush-lodges, and a Safari-camp.

A trail-camp that consist of tents is available for people that want to explore the wilderness area on foot.

Rest Huts      :

The Rest huts are located in Mpila camp, and are the most basic accommodation available and have separate ablution facility. It sleeps four people, two single beds, and one bunk.Safari Camp  :  (See http://www.mpilacamp.co.za for further details)

Chalets          :

The Chalets are en-suite and have two bedrooms, one with two single beds, and one with three single beds.
It has a lounge, patio, and a fully equipped kitchen.

Cottages        :

The Cottages are en-suite and have three bedrooms, lounge, patio, and a fully equipped kitchen.
It sleeps seven people. A cook is in attendance to cook the meals.

Safari Camp  :

The Safari camp consist of luxurious “Out of Africa” safari tents, -suite and built on elevated wooden platforms, complete with a fully equipped kitchen. 

The safari camp in the Umfolozi section of the park, which is situated in the main camp Mpila, will give you an excellent feeling of being among the animals, as the camp is not fenced in, and sleeping under canvas, gives that real “Out of Africa” feeling.


The mistake people make by hearing the word “tent” is the fact that the safari camp is based on en-suit accommodation, and the interior is spacious and comfortable, and have comfortable beds, with mosquito nets attached above it.
With that you will have a toilet and shower, including a hand basin on the back of the tent, accessible via a door.

It is so nice to lay in bed at night, and hear the animals grazing around the tents, and the odd Hyaena that brings you a visit by smelling the B.B.Q. and looking for leftovers.
An experience you never forget.

Besides the main camp, private accommodation is available in the form of Bush-Camps, and Bush-Lodges.

Kruger National Park


Accommodations in the Kruger Park, is quite extensive, and ranges from simple rest huts (called rondavels) to very up-market Guest houses. Most of the accommodation offered by us, will be situated within the main camps. Restaurant facilities are available in most of the camps, as well shops for the needed extra’s that you want to buy. Ranging from curiosities to sweets and the sometimes desperate needed film rolls


The accommodation that has separate ablution facilities, we will classify as “C” type accommodation. The accommodation with en-suite facilities, (rondavels and quest-cottages) will be classified as “B” type accommodation.
The accommodation based on the up-market type (quest houses and donor houses), will be classified as “A” type accommodation.


It will be important to state type of accommodation preferred when booking a tour, as that determines the total cost of the required tour.


With most of our tours to the Kruger Park, breakfast, lunches and dinners are included in the price.
If it is preferred to pay for your own meals to reduce the cost of the tour, please indicate such when booking the tour.

While in the Kruger, excursions can be arranged to have bush-walks, night-drives, and bush-BBQ`s.
Those excursions will NOT be included in the price of the tour, but can be paid for by yourselves if required.
If requested to include them, please mention in your booking form.


The above arrangement is done to keep the cost down, as sometimes an excursion is booked in advance and charge for but have to be abandoned due to bad weather or sickness.
Alcoholic beverages and drinks are at clients cost.
